Story
In May 2019 I ran the Edinburgh marathon to mark the 10 years since my mum was diagnosed with Sarcoma- a soft tissue cancer. She was waiting for me at the finish line whilst family and friends helped me raise over £5000 for the charity. Running however is NOT my thing and I swore I would never run again.
On the 25th of September 2019 my mum decided to let her body rest. No longer will she face the chemo, radiotherapy, surgeries and drug trials. We have now said goodbye to the most wonderful mum, wife, sister and Granma. Mum left a huge legacy, she was selfless to the core and always wanted to make a difference. She may not be able to fundraise and I know she won’t be at the finish line, but in a small way I can continue her cause. This is why I am digging out my trainers and hitting the pavements again.
We all began to train for London 2020 until the world was turned on its head. So... another year on and here we go again.
Sarcoma UK is a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this- we can give someone their loved one for a little longer. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.Thank you for your support.
Sleep tight Mum- this ones for you xxx
