Story
I am honoured to work with Rise and other domestic abuse charities who make such a huge difference to women and children escaping domestic abuse, sector full of passionate and driven people who never stop fighting for change, equality and to end violence and abuse. Now is the time for me to join the movement as an activist and help to raise awareness and funds to support the work that this amazing charity does in Brighton. I would hugely apprentice a little sponsoring of a pound or two if you can, it’s been a while since I ran and every little penny will drive these little legs along that 8km
RISE is a Brighton based domestic violence and abuse charity that has worked for over 26 years to end all forms of violence and abuse against women, their families and those identifying as LGBTQ+. RISE stands for Refuge, Information, Support and Education; our strategic mission is: freedom from abuse and violence. We reach across Brighton & Hove, providing wrap-around services for adults and children on their recovery journey, following experiences of domestic abuse. Our essential services include specialist one-to-one therapy, therapeutic survivor groups, an LGBTQ+ refuge, work with children and families, as well as community engagement projects.
