We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

My Mum, Teresa, has Alzheimer’s disease, which is a type of dementia and has no cure.  It is a hideous disease, and it has been heartbreaking for me to see my Mum deteriorate from the happy, loving, caring person she was 10 years ago to how she is today.  She has forgotten she ever had a husband, three daughters and 7 grandchildren, not to mention a large extended family and network of friends across England, Ireland and America.  She can no longer speak more than a handful of words, and she now lives in a care home as she cannot feed, or do anything else for, herself.

I am running the Bristol half marathon to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society, who work with dementia patients to improve their quality of life, and fund research into finding a cure for this awful illness.  I would really appreciate it if you could sponsor me as little or as much as you can, and really make a difference for people like my Mum.

Thanks,

Fiona
