Story
On the 4th of October, I will be joining a Howden Group team trekking
across the Northern Sahara to raise much-needed funds for The Alzheimer’s Society and Insurance United Against Dementia.
There are currently around 900,000 people with dementia in the UK and this is projected to rise to 1.6 million by 2040. This is why I’m going to take on a trek of the Sahara Desert this autumn in support of Alzheimer’s Society and Insurance United Against Dementia.
This will be a challenging trek for a bunch of insurance brokers and me! Our 4 day trek will take us across Morocco’s forbidding landscape of rough terrain, punctuated peaks, gorges, vast sand dunes, and not forgetting the heat! The team will trek on average around 8 hours a day.
Alzheimer’s Society is there for everyone affected by dementia. I’m playing my part to make sure vital research into dementia continues and no one has to face dementia alone.
