Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Today our hearts are broken. Our lovely mum passed away after doctors diagnosed two primary cancers with widespread secondaries only 7 weeks ago.
Mum spent her final days in the Bury Hospice for which we are eternally grateful. Nothing was too much trouble, mum was kept so comfortable, pain free and any potential fears explored. We were wrapped in cotton wool when feeling very fragile and all our needs were met. By far the most special aspect was being allowed to have Fiona’s dog, Lottie stay with us. She was able to cuddle up to mum on her bed, something she always did when mum had her afternoon rest at home. The staff loved her and she made her daily escape by being kidnapped by the nurses in order to visit other patients who benefitted from Lottie’s fledgling career as a PAT Dog.
This Hospice is a godsend and unfortunately despite being a 12 bedded purpose built unit, can only afford to open 6 beds. So we are hoping that friends and family and anyone else who has been touched by a hospice to donate to this extremely worthy cause instead of flowers or other donations she may receive to remember her life.
We have set up a justgiving page and welcome donations no matter how small (but large would be great too!) Let’s help open the other 6 beds so more patients can get the heartfelt care they deserve at the end of their lives.
Thanking you in anticipation
Lots of love
Fiona, Ian & Kate
