My Fire Walk Challenge for Children's Air Ambulance

CAA Southwest Fire Walk · 30 October 2022 ·
For anyone who knows me, I love a challenge and the more daredevil the better!
Why am I doing it though?
Last year I received the call every grandparent fears, when my son told me my 8 week old grandson had stopped breathing and had been rushed to their local hospital. A transfer to the specialist Children's Hospital in Bristol was planned with the Children's Air Ambulance, he was struggling to breath unaided and every second mattered in getting him the right care. Thankfully he started to respond to treatment and didn't need the transfer but I never want there to be a time when this service can't be offered to others.
This is what they do:
The Children's Air Ambulance is an inter-hospital transfer service flying babies and children from one hospital to another for specialist care. We work with 10 NHS paediatric and neonatal retrieval teams across the UK, enabling them to bring their specialist equipment on board to safely transfer their patients from one hospital to another. If a child is too sick to fly then the Childrens Air Ambulance can fly a specialist team directly to them. With our ability to fly approximately four times faster than a land ambulance, we can minimise travel times and the risk for little patients. For more information visit childrensairambulance.org.uk
I can't fly a helicopter but I can help raise funds so someone else can! Please support me in my challenge as every little will make a big difference.
