I have been raising money for breast cancer research for nearly 20 years, after facing my own diagnosis in 2001. Since receiving brilliant care at Ninewells Hospital, I wanted to help other patients by raising money for research, but I hated the idea of just asking for money - I wanted to give something in return.  So my idea of selling my homemade tablet was born. And, thanks to the local running community, youth football teams and other supporters, nearly 20 years and over 10,000 trays of tablet later, I've raised £93,000. Not bad for a one-woman operation whose manufacturing tools consist of a pot, wooden spoon and a baking tray!  In the past I have even sponsored a drug trial that had a successful outcome. However, Covid has now made it extremely difficult to raise money. There are no events for me to go to, I cannot approach people in the same way and also they are just not now carrying cash anymore.  To put it into perspective I have raised half the amount in the past two years that I did in 2019 alone.   I've thought that the 20th anniversary of my first tablet sale or £100,000 would be a good time to stop but I am determined to reach that figure before I do. And that's where I need your help.  Therefore I would be immensely grateful if you would consider making a donation to help me support breast cancer research at the University of Dundee and ensure the scientists and clinicians can continue their progress and hopefully breakthroughs  in the battle against this horrible disease.
