We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am attempting to complete the Great North Run half marathon with my sister Nichola Dean. Training so far is going well considering the activities over the past year, I gave birth to mine and my husbands first child, Thomas Dalton, not a straight forward birth, Thomas arrived 5 weeks early and after an emergency C section and was in intensive care for 2 weeks.

I have suffered from Type 1 diabetes for a number of years, it basically means that I am insulin on a daily basis, when I first developed it I had to inject my self up to 4 times a day, but more recently due to research and development into diabetes treatment I am now on a insulin pump, which makes my quality of life much better, it gives me more freedom in doing things and I no longer suffer with people staring at me when injecting myself in public places like I used to.

Its not just me who has diabetes in the family both my Nana and Father in Law are both diabetics, and like other diabetics hey need to benefit from improvements in treatment.

Because of this, and the support I received from diabetic nurses during my pregnancy , I have decided to repay them by running for Diabetes UK.

Please, please sponsor me so that diabetes treatment can continue to improve.

So please dig deep and donate now.
