We are an international charity that exists to relieve suffering caused by disasters.

Story

We are running the Great North Run for RedR, a very worthwhile charity that provides disaster relief training in countries directly affected by conflict and natural disaster.

RedR are in Somalia now, coordinating the response to the influx of people to the capital.  In the last few months, 100,000 people have moved into the city as the food crisis worsens in rural areas.  Read more on RedR's web site: http://www.redr.org.uk/en/Newsroom/Latest_News.cfm/east-africa-food-crisis

Neither of us have run a timed half marathon before, but we've been training and are both determined to a run good time (for beginners!).
