Firstly, Thanks for clicking.

I know you’re busy so stopping to read this is a victory in itself but let me try and keep your attention for a few more minutes. 

We’re the Finnegan Brothers, William and Henry (yes just like the princes but we were born first so they copied us) and if you know us, there’s nothing we like more than having a good time, especially if it involves a well-crafted beer or a decent vino but after both having children we felt we owed it to them try and stay fit, so we started running. After a few months of doing that we want to see if we can run a bit further.  

Now we’re not what you’d call long distance or marathon runners but we’ve decided to run a 10k. We didn’t want to do it for nothing, so we’re doing it for charity.

So why Mencap?

We’ll tell you why, because Mencap work towards improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and we believe that everyone deserves the chance to learn, build relationships and feel part of the community they live in, regardless of their disabilities. 

And with support, we can make a difference to a few families here and now. 

Now having a close relative with learning difficulties ourselves, we know first-hand how living day to day doesn’t just affect the individual, but also the families. Having a family member with learning difficulties can be a tiring and thankless task but one that needs to be done.

That’s where you come in, we know tons of your mates have done a run for this and that, but if you could give anything from fifty pence to a Fiver, hell, if you were going to buy us a pint the next time your saw us, donate the money instead, that small amount could help us make a massive difference to someone’s life.
