Story
In early 2017, Mum went into the hospital with a chest infection. She spent most of 2017 in and out of the hospital and during that time her behavior began to get increasingly strange.
By August 2017, the mum we knew had gone, and we later got the diagnosis we had feared, vascular dementia. It became clear that she would not be able to return home and would need professional care.
It is still hard to come to terms with the speed at which the cruel disease took Mum from us. She is still here in some ways and makes me smile and laugh with the things she comes out with, but the mum I knew has gone, and I miss her desperately.
I'm powerless to do anything but look after her wellbeing and keep her company. I saw the memory walk advertised and decided it would be a lovely way to honor mum and to feel that I can at least do something, regarding raising awareness and much-needed funds.
If you could donate and/or share the page, I would be very grateful
Many thanks
