Story

In true Bra style I want get as dirty as possible this year - and I need your help! To celebrate turning 40 in March I’m aiming to take part in at leat one event every month of 2019 varying from 5k runs to a full adventure weekend (which includes trail running, cycling and kayaking). For me, the muddier the better, so the majority of the events I've chosen are mud run obstacle courses...those of you who celebrated by 30th with me will have fond memories of this i'm sure!

As well as raising money for the O2e charity, I want to celebrate my 40th with YOU so please please please GET INVOLVED. I'm not having a big party so this can be your present to me: DONATE and SIGN UP to an event or coming along to SUPPORT. There will always be post-match drinks and I may even throw in a T-shirt...

Below is a list of the events I’ve got planned - some of them you can enter as an individual but the ones with an asterix we need to enter as a team, or as multiple teams. Where this is the case, the team name is Filthy at 40.

January 5 - Olympic Park 10k - DONE

February 16 - Hyde Park 10k - DONE

March 17 - Victoria Park 10k - DONE

April 13 - Spring Wolf Run 10k, Warwickshire - DONE

May 18 - Rough Runner 5k, Oxfordshire - DONE

June 1 - Tough Mudder Urban 5k, Franklin Gardens Northampton - DONE

June 22 - Twilight Run 10k - Farnborough

July 20 - Colour Rush 5k, Liverpool - DONE

August 17 - Tough Mudder Classic 16k, Badminton - DONE

September 21 - Serpentine Swim, London 1m  - DONE

October 5 - Rough Runner 10k, London - DONE

November - TBC

December - Various Santa Runs and a Christmas/NY swim at Mudeford Spit/Hengistbury Head!

This is not a complete list and may change over time - please feel free to suggest extra events to me - but I need to start planning, signing up teams etc so please let me know ASAP which ones you're interested in.

As for my charity choice - in no way am I suggesting that what I am doing is extraordinary but what I love about this cause is that it encourages the volunteers to push themselves, putting us out of comfort zones. I run the odd 5k but committing to something every month is something I have never done...

O2e is a charity that I've been lucky enough to be involved with for the last few years. It's a community of philanthropic volunteers who enjoy furthering themselves through exercise and adventure. O2e strives to improve the lives of children with disabilities and children who are seriously ill. Get out of your comfort zone and live life to the full!

Let's do this! Your support, in any way, is much appreciated

Thanks

Cath/Bra xx
