Cutting my hair · 23 September 2021

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

My long hair is infamous. More often than not people will greet me with a “wow, your hair is so long!” rather than a “hello” or “how are you.” It’s an innate part of who I am and has helped shape my identity for as long as I can remember. I know how important my hair is for me, and that’s why I’m going to be cutting off roughly 26 inches of it on the 23rd of September and donating it to the Little Princess Trust. My hair will be used to create a free wig for a child with cancer in order to help boost their confidence and reclaim a sense of identity. Any donation would be greatly appreciated in order to help this charity’s work in creating wigs and funding research into childhood cancer.
