Help reduce food poverty this Christmas!
Christmas is an expensive time for all but this year it's putting severe pressure on people in our borough.
Recently the council shared some alarming statistics at the Waltham Forest Cost of Living Summit held earlier this month. 47.4 % of children in this borough are living in poverty and don't have access to three daily meals. Alarmingly, we have the highest unemployment rate in London and the third highest rate of fuel poverty.
But you can help support those in need this Christmas. Donate to our #FestiveFoodFund campaign and help bring Christmas to Waltham Forest.
We are raising £3000 to provide staple food items and £10 fuel vouchers to each household that accesses our services. The money will help cover:
- 60 x £15 food hampers for single occupant households
- 40 x £20 food hampers for small families/those with small children
- 7 x £30 food hampers for large families
- 80 x £10 fuel vouchers
We will be at the Saturday market at Lloyd Park, Walthamstow on 4th, 11th and (tbc) 18th December from 10am to 4pm. Come by and say hi and for the opportunity to gift a donation for a loved one!
