Story
We are a group of swimming friends made up of master club swimmers and a couple of non club swimmers. We all swam through the winter taking part in the polar bear and penguin challenge. The polar bears swam skins in temperatures of 4 degrees and less. The penguins swam the same temperatures but in wetsuits. At 11° the whole team were skins swimming in preparation for the next challenge. A channel swim relay. The rules are no neoprene, a hat, goggles and swimsuit only. An hour swim then the next person is in. Sea sickness and sea conditions will be challenging. Not many people have succeeded. We hope to, despite currents, jellyfish and sewage. We are raising money for Helen and Douglas House. A fabulous local charity close to our hearts. If at all possible please donate to help this cause, no matter how small. Every penny is appreciated.
