Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My Dad sadly died when I was a toddler. It makes me very upset that he is not here to enjoy life with us. Lots of children lose parents and brothers and sisters because of all sorts of horrible reasons and it is a sad fact of life that somehow you have to just try and get on as best you can with whatever situation you are in.
Harry's Rainbow are a great charity in Milton Keynes who help children and young people like me feel safe and supported when someone has died. . They have a great local meeting place for fun and laughter to forget about your sadness but also to remember loved ones who are gone. We have had so many great times with Harry's Rainbow, my favourite being the butterfly release and also days out at amusement parks with other HR friends, which definitely helps me shake off any bad mood I might be in!! Jessica's mile run and all the fun days are always a great time with family and friends and all Harry's Rainbow volunteers who I get on with really well. Also they support mums and dads too with advice and tea and chats with people in the same situation which helps everyone, they provide memory boxes to families, helpful books for children (which they did for me when i was younger) and there are always art and crafts activities to take part in, to hold memories of our missing family member, like pictures, candles, pottery and cards on special days. I have made loads of lovely things. Its hard at times but it is good to think about and talk about anyone who has died. I love remembering and thinking about my dad and hope he is proud of us doing cool things for him.
One of the things I wanted to do this year now i am 16 was the Harry's Rainbow parachute jump but as I have quite bad asthma, its not a good idea at the minute. I was gutted, but I am now so pleased that Harry's Rainbow are doing another fab fundraising event which is the London to Brighton Bike ride. Cycling is one of my favourite things and I am so excited to be doing this 54 mile cycle ride with my mum. It is on 16th September 2018, this is the day before my dad's birthday which makes it all the more special. I will be doing it for him with my mum, Karon.
I am not very fit, so it will be a challenge!! I will have to do some training as 54 miles is an awful long way for my skinny legs, but I hope you can help me on my way by donating any amount you can, however small. All this money will go straight to Harry's Rainbow Charity to help a bereaved child and their family in Milton Keynes.
Thank you for your support from all of our family. We are very sad about our loss but are really very grateful for Harry's Rainbow helping us over many years. We hope lots of other children can be helped in the future too by our fundraising. If you cant donate, please share this story on any social media you can, we want to raise lots of awareness of Harry's Rainbow Charity so others might come and join in supporting any young person who has lost someone they love.
Thank you, Felix :)
