Story
Hey, I'm Felix, incoming 2nd year studying biology at the University of Bath. I've been running over half my life - from just a clueless, uncoordinated 9-year old toeing the line of local fun runs in Washington D.C., home at the time, I now train upwards of 40-50 miles a week and regularly race 5ks, 10ks and the odd half! But running is so much more than that - what had its beginnings as a sporadic pastime has evolved into (hackneyed as it may sound!) a way of living and an intrinsic part of who I am. Physical boon, yes, but, most importantly for me, it doubles as an invaluable mental and emotional outlet, offering relief from the stresses of everyday life.
So, when approached by Team Anthony Nolan about this year's Bath Half Marathon and their fundraising goals, I didn't hesitate to jump aboard this incredible team and begin ramping up the training! Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. They achieve this by matching individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. They also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond.
There'll come a day when Anthony Nolan can save the lives of everyone in need of a stem cell transplant. It's a lofty goal but the team have set their sights firmly on this target and, with your help, can move one step ever closer to reaching it
