On the 7th September Bryn (my horse) and I will be taking part in the annual Windsor Great Park sponsored cross country ride, to raise money for the Lions Club of Windsor.

The Lions Club is a fantastic organisation who raise funds and provide services for those less fortunate, both locally, nationally and internationally. They have raised in excess of £2m through fundraising events both large and small, and through corporate sponsorship, with the funds being distributed to well deserving causes. Here are just some of their current programmes of work:

Good neighbours good causes

This is a programme we launched in June 2006, it is a very simple concept where you can help a friend or neighbour get back on top of life. We can support with:

• Trade skills: Painting, Gardening, Building,
• Professional skills: Finance, Marketing, Sales, Fundraising, IT, Admin
• Care skills: Card playing, Swimming, Companionship, Pets for therapy, Communications.
• Miscellaneous skills: Driving, Musical, Artistic.
• Capabilities: Contacts, Experience.
