Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am a sister on Radnor Ward (Intensive Care Unit) at Salisbury District Hospital. As you are all aware, it has been a very challenging year for everyone in the world, especially for anyone admitted into hospital. On Radnor we always strive to provide the highest level of patient care - personal care being a top priority. During the last 12 months, with three lockdowns and having to limit/suspend visiting - we have been unable to receive patients' own toiletries. Being able to provide each patient with the enhanced level of care not only greatly improves their mood and spirit, but also the Nurses providing it, knowing they have helped their patient.
We have hospital stock of most standard toiletries, however, the aim of this fundraiser is to provide each patient with their own (more luxurious) packs on admission. They will contain shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush/paste, razors, deodorant, hair ties, wipes, moisturiser, lip balm. It will also be used to fund shampoo caps for patients unable to lie flat.
This fundraiser, initially, will be to fund the packs for Radnor/ITU. However, if this fundraiser is successful and raises more money than expected then it will be rolled out across other ward areas
The local community has been fantastic, especially this last year. A big, big thank you from myself and my fantastic work colleagues (Radnorettes) on Radnor Ward.
