Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My uncle Spencer Holder (far right) was diagnosed with Neuroacanthocytosis (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuroacanthocytosis) in 2010 and has gradually deteriorated. He is 45 years old from Sutton, Surrey and has a daughter, age 15. We are very close as a family and Spencer's illness has brought us closer. He is currently in a home in Leicester (Burton Park) due to there being no homes in our area that are willing to cater for Spencer (he has been in them all). With this being 147 miles away from where my family live, it has been in particularly hard for my grandparents (78 years old) who are unable to see their son twice a week and rush to him in a hospital close by if he has a seizure. He has been moved from home to home (8 in total) with also a long stay in the Neurological ward in St Georges Hospital,Tooting.
Spencer is now getting to the stage where he is unable to swallow, walk (constantly falling over and hitting his head), have a conversation without thinking he has killed someone and is now sadly unable to cater for himself at all.
I am looking to do something that will make my grandparents, parents and other members family and most importantly Spencer proud of me for raising money to help and support the brain research trust and to run 26.5 miles which seem's like very hard work (I can do it!!!!). This has been very hard for my family and know there are many families in our situation.
Many Thanks,
