Story
Hello :)
So where do I start... normally seen with a glass of wine on most occasions or running for the train, which is more a necessity than a pleasure...
So enough is enough, things in life for me have changed and I want to take on a personal challenge..... not one, but three different sports, well if I'm going for it why not do it full on! Eek!... I may regret that later when I see myself in a wetsuit!... or need to change bike tubes/tyres quickly!
These days this brunette is seen more with mud, trainers and without a single complaint about broken nails or wet hair!!.. Honestly its killing my vino nights and street cred!.. Don't worry, I am not planning on becoming a professional athlete ... but I certainly have the bug.
I have been training for a few months with the most amazing people who are super skilled and supportive... and I could not do this without them. The David Lloyd Redway Runners in particular have been great trainers, and my adorable family and friends, who initially looked shocked! have supported me 100%.
I have been completing regular runs, cycling and most recently swimming, each tough but I am definitely improving.. and I am hoping to compete in a Duathlon at Silversone before the big day. This will help with my technique.. so I really am taking this seriously.
So while this is challenging for me, I felt it was time to ask you to support me and at the same time, more importantly, support some amazing charities. The Tri for Life supports a variety of charities and £200 will go towards these (Whizz Kids, Great Ormond St, Rays of Sunshine, Breakthrough Cancer). Anything I raise after will be split between British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research, all amazing charities of which every penny will make a difference.
The Tri is on Saturday 15th September 2012 at Woburn Abbey. I really will need all the support I can get (even to drag me out of the lake, push my bike or be a body double for the run!) and yes I am sure there will be some terrible photo opportunities! :).. But it will also be a fun day out with lots of activities planned.
So enough said.. thanks for supporting me and I hope to see you there (if not at the end with cuppa please!)
Fay xx
