Quick update: sent my application for the Brighton Half Marathon the other day.....!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2013 is a bit of a milestone. It will mark 10 years since my family lost a sister, daughter, aunty, my mum, to cancer.
I have been thinking for a while what I could do to mark such a passage of time; the usual dull stuff like visit her grave (but her ashes were scattered), dedicate a bench to her (yawn) or build a memorial (erm, what?!). And then I thought that maybe I could do something for the people who are going through what she endured. And what about their family and friends? Lets face it, Mum isn't really going to know if I planted her a tree in her memory, is she...?
So, as I'm scared of heights and refuse to do anything like bungee jump, or jump out of a plane, I figured the one thing people wouldn't expect me to do is run an effing marathon. I'd like to think you'd all pay dearly to see a red-faced, sweaty, puffy Abby cross a marathon finish line.
I've pledged £1,200 and I've got 8 and a half months to achieve this target. And be fit enough to run 26.3 miles.
Shit.
Please give what you can, and don't forget to GiftAid it!
Thank you all so much - this really does mean so much to me.
