Fashionizer has chosen to do something different this Christmas
At the time of writing, the ebola virus has reportedly killed around 7,000 people, and thousands more have been infected. The real figure is possibly three times that. The World Health Organisation has identified this outbreak as the worst in the history of the disease, and with the world being increasingly connected, the disease is at greater risk of spreading beyond its current boundaries.
The truth is that there are simply not enough treatment centres and clinical staff to cope with this crisis. There is not enough protective clothing, medicines and equipment. Some places don’t even have access to soap and water. Others are tens of miles away from a place where they can receive treatment.
Instead of sending Christmas gifts and cards, Fashionizer is supporting The DEC Ebola Crisis Appeal. The DEC is a partnership between 13 charities who come together during times of crisis. The money raised goes towards preventative measures as well as providing treatment and support for those who are personally affected.
If you are normally kind enough to send us a card or a gift, we would invite you to make a change to your normal practice and make a small donation to the Ebola Crisis Appeal instead.
