Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page. My name is Farzana Sadiq. I have decided to to sign up to the National Three Peak Challenge to raise money for Imran Khan Cancer Appeal and at the same time get fit and healthy.

The challenge takes place on the following dates:

10.06.23 - Ben Nevis Challenge

Recently, as I reached the half a century point of my life, I realised that  the years are swiftly flying by and the weight is rapidly piling on and the children cannot leave the nest fast enough, I became restless and didn't know what to do with myself. How much cleaning, how much cooking how much tv watching or reading can I do? So, I decided to take up walking, but I still wasn't motivated enough to do it regularly or even take it seriously.

It wasn't until October 2022, on a whim and with only one week's notice, I did a charity trek at Mount Snowdon. It was then that the hiking/trekking bug hit me and I wanted to do more of it, but at the same time I wanted to make it worthwhile. 

Cancer is a disease that has touched my loved ones and I saw first hand the excellent care and treatment they received from the wonderful NHS. It got me thinking how truly blessed we are to have such an excellent health care service and one we do not pay for; one we take for granted will be there in our time of need. 

But what of those around the world where there is nothing available in their time of need and if there is, they cannot afford to pay for it. I would like to use this opportunity to raise much needed funds for Imran Khan's Cancer Hospital and help the people of Pakistan access free and excellent healthcare just as easily as we do here in the UK.

Prior to the establishment of the hospital in 1994, there was no comprehensive facility dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of  cancer in existence in Pakistan. Over the years, the hospital has established itself as the Centre of excellence providing comprehensive care, free of charge, to thousands of cancer patients.
