Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was diagnosed in January 2011 with stage 3 invasive breast cancer. I found the lump whilst breastfeeding my little baby girl, Noor, who was only 1 years old at the time. Immediately, I had to stop breastfeeding which was very emotional before being taken on an even more harrowing and ongoing whirlwind journey of hospital visits, chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and hormone treatment. I'm still struggling with all the horrendous side effects of treatment and medication but charities like Breast Cancer Care have made everything more bearable amidst the chaos of a cancer diagnosis.
I would really appreciate if you could donate some money to the charity as they have been so supportive and I don't think I could have coped half as well without them. Breast cancer can be a taboo subject amongst the Asian Muslim community so I would really like to promote awareness of this subject. Remember if you find anything unusual or abnormal, please visit your GP as it could save your life like it did mine.
I'm also modelling in the 10th annual Breast Cancer Care Fashion Show at the Radisson Blu on 27th September 2012 to raise money for the charity. Please support this worthy cause by attending or donating on this page. Tickets are available on their website: http://www.breastcancercare.org.uk/fundraising-events/events/show-glasgow
I was also in the Sunday Mail newspaper on April 22nd 2012 (link below) if you fancy a read! I am also being featured for another article so keep your eyes peeled for a future edition of the Sunday Mail.
