Story
Friends of Bright Eyes (FOBE) has been an established charity in Luton for over 20 years. FOBE as a charity focuses on supporting children with disabilities and their families. The primary type of support we provide is known as short breaks. These weekly clubs provide an essential opportunity for children with disability to access play and socializing opportunities in a fully supportive and inclusive environment. The time out of the home in an environment which encourages engagement in different activities amongst their peers really helps improve self esteem and general well being. At the same time these clubs provide the parents/carers with a much needed break.
This year we will be climbing the Yorkshire 3 peaks, a route of 24 miles and included 1585 metres of ascent, taking on the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in under 12 hours!
We are raising funds to purchase and develop a venue designed specifically to support children, young adults and families affected by disability.
