Story
Mission Rabies is a UK-based charity and international NGO working to eliminate rabies by 2030. Despite being 100% vaccine preventable, rabies causes at least 59,000 human deaths annually, most of which are children. We are going to change this. Following World Health Organisation guidelines, Mission Rabies run mass canine vaccination drives and educate local communities on rabies prevention in India, Malawi, Uganda, Sri Lanka and Tanzania.
Their results speak for themselves with the number of human rabies deaths falling every year, and Goa state in India has no human death due to rabies for the third consecutive year (vaccination campaigns started in 2013): https://missionrabies.com/projects/india
From July 16th til 27th 2022, I will be volunteering with Mission rabies to vaccinate dogs against rabies in a remote area of Uganda. I am looking forward to contributing on the ground and witness first-hand the impact of Mission rabies in an endemic country. Your donation will go directly to Mission rabies' account. Each donation, big or small, can make a difference, for example:
- With 6 USD / 5.8 EUR / 5 GBP, you can cover the purchase of a rapid rabies test kit, which allow to diagnose rabies within 10 minutes.
- With 18.4 USD / 17.5 EUR / 15 GBP, you can cover the costs of 10 dog vaccines – how amazing is that?
Thanks for your contribution to the fight against rabies!
