Thank you all for taking the time to read this.
I am passionate about supporting those with mental health issues, especially men, as the figures for death from suicide continue to rise.
The way I have decided to fundraise is by running and walking 10 kilometers every day for the 30 days of September and finished with a virtual half Marathon on the 8th October.
Previously I have run 5 km, 10 km, two half marathons and an ultra challenge of 100k (which took nearly 24 hours).
For me these challenges have helped me with my own mental health especially through the pandemic. It’s about being outside and exercising and I feel running helps me to keep fit in body and in mind. But any exercise can give you the same effect.
I have chosen Hospitality Action as my charity as I have been in hospitality for 20+ years and I know that they have helped myself, my friends and my colleagues in our times of need. By giving a donation through Just Giving to Hospitality Action , you will be helping to give support to people who really need it who are working in the Hospitality industry. We want to give our colleagues the support they need whilst working in a very difficult industry, before a problem escalates untreated or un-noticed. The main way to receive help is to talk about our problems which may be negatively affecting our state of mind.
