What's this all about?

Well, friends and fellow Earth citizens, I am excited to share with you that I will be volunteering in Nepal from April 2020.

I have been offered a placement as Team Leader in Dhading, Nepal for 3 months, where I will help UK volunteers and local volunteers support different educational projects for the community. One of these being 'Sisters for Sisters', which aims at empowering marginalised girls by offering them mentoring from older local women with the relevant life skills and educational training.

This opportunity came from two organisations: ICS and VSO.

ICS, which stands for International Citizens Services, partners up with International Volunteering Charities to help developing countries. Though this program is 90% funded by the government, the last 10% is raised by volunteers to demonstrate our commitment and teach us new skills. VSO brings people together to address marginalisation and poverty. Right now, VSO is bringing justice to rape survivors in Pakistan, ending stigma against disabled children in Ethiopia and tackling the youth skills gap in Uganda.Please join me as I take a stand against poverty and support VSO's uniquely effective approach that reached over 1.5 million people last year alone.Read more about this vital work, please visit their website: www.vsointernational.org/fighting-poverty

De quoi s'agit-il ?

Amis et citoyens du Monde, je suis ravie de partager avec vous ma prochaine aventure : 3 mois de bénévolat au Népal.

L'aventure commence commence avec une collecte de fonds et culminera en Avril, direction Dhading (Népal). Durant 3 mois, j'aiderais différents projets éducatifs en tant que co-chef d'équipe pour les bénévoles anglais et locaux. Les projets sont variés et uniques, comme "soeurs pour soeurs". Celui-ci a pour but de permettre des jeunes filles marginalisées à obtenir une meilleure vie en leur offrant une "grande sœur - Mentor".

Cette opportunité est présentée par 2 organisations en partenariat : ICS et VSO.

ICS est une organisation anglaise associée à 3 organisations caritatives internationales aidant les pays en développement. Ce programme est financé à 90% par le gouvernement et 10% par les bénévoles, pour nous inciter à démontrer notre intérêt et nous apprendre de nouvelles compétences.

VSO est une organisation internationale réunissant des gens pour lutter contre la marginalisation et la pauvreté. En ce moment, VSO rend justice aux victimes de viols au Pakistan, livre combat contre la stigmatisation des enfants handicapés en Ethiopie et s'attaque au fossé de compétences chez les jeunes ougandais. Rejoignez-moi dans la lutte contre la précarité en soutenant VSO et leur unique démarche, qui a touché plus de 1,5 millions de personnes l'année dernière !
