Story
Thanks for visiting my page and with any luck, you will donate
some of your hard-earned money in support of my mission: to run 4 half marathons and one full marathon dressed iconic fictional heroes in support of Fanconi Hope.
Have I run a marathon?
before? No. So going all-in and committing to over 78 miles total, in fancy dress may seem slightly extreme (and I can’t say I’m looking forward to the blisters or the sore – well – everything). And, as an added bonus, if I could raise over £10,000 I’ll run an Ultramarathon, one of my more terrifying pledges.
The progress so far:
On 14th October I ran the Royal Parks half marathon dressed as Godzilla. The Brighton Marathon is booked for April, and then the plan is to do the Bedgebury Forest Half and the Great North Run, leaving just one more to find (suggestions are welcome).
On the costume front, we currently have Baymax and Scooby Doo in the arsenal and might enlist Dumbledore for that touch of magic down the line.
The charity:
But to the serious bit: the reason I’m doing this. My son was diagnosed with Fanconi Anaemia (FA) during Christmas 2017. FA is a rare and life-limiting condition affecting children, and there just isn’t enough research into it. Fanconi Hope, a charity, fund research and treatment for the condition, as well as offering support and advice to families like mine.
Please give anything you can as every bit helps. We all appreciate your support.
