Story
Following a long postponement due to coronavirus, in June 2021, we will be taking on the very long and famous Ridgeway trail to raise money for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity - in loving memory of Robin Dalwood.
Over four days, Hannah and David will walk 80 miles (just over 3 marathons!!!) from Swindon to the Hospice in Aylesbury following the route of Britain's oldest road. Kelly and Adam will be joining the walk for the final 40 miles(!!!), starting in Wallingford.
Florence Nightingale Hospice is more than a Hospice, and this is more than just a challenge. Completing 20 miles each day for 4 days will be a mental and physical push, however it's all for an amazing cause. Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity commits to raise £1million each and every year to ensure the incredible services can continue, such as the new Hospice at Home service which ensures those wishing to remain at home can do so whilst receiving the same high standard of care they would as an inpatient. Without supporters becoming part of Team Flo and taking on challenges whilst raising funds, the Hospice services just would not continue. Every penny counts so please donate what you can and cheer us on through the miles to come!
There will no doubt be tears, blisters and sore legs along the way, but for such a worthy cause it’s a no brainer. It’s a real, once-in-a-lifetime challenge for all of us, but a small thank you for the services provided to our family during a really difficult time.
Part of the amount fundraised will cover the cost of the trek itself.
