On 27th January 2003, just before India's 5th birthday, she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer that nearly took her life. She was treated at The Royal Marsden in Sutton.

The staff at the hospital were amazing - with some of the best consultants in the world, and some of the best nurses you will ever meet. It was an intense journey for India and our family, and not all the children with her made it, but she came through, and it is testament to the level of care and environment that the staff create in Sutton that India actually looked forward to returning to the hospital for check ups - despite the pain and fear during treatment.

So ....India, Alexander (brother) and Dominic (father) are  taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on October 8th in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Of course, we want to raise as much money as possible for the hospital to help them to save more lives. We are running together and determined to get round in the best possible times, but unlikely to finish together, because:

• Dominic is 64, has never run much further than the length of a tennis court, and has tweaked or pulled most muscles available since starting "training"!
• Alexander, although fit and thinks he has this nailed, is so far failing to put in the training that is required!
• India is putting in the training and has a strong desire to beat both her father and brother!

Please help us reach our target and support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, who touched our lives in the most profound way.
