Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A year ago I started running. My challenge at the start was to run not walk, then to increase the distance I ran each time I went out and to try not to stop. By September of last year I was able to run my first 5k.
A week later I watched the 2010 great north run and was inspired by the stories of the many people taking part for different charities and the personal challenges they had undertaken. I wanted to combine a new found passion for running with a desire to help others.
In running the great north run I am supported by my brother and between us selected bowl cancer uk as the charity we would like to raise both money and awareness for. With a family history of coeliac disease and colon related conditions this is a charity we felt an affinity too.
I am aiming to raise £400 which would enable bowl cancer uk to staff their advisory service for a day, providing vital support to people affected by the disease. Between myself and my brother we would like to raise £1000.
I will keep you updated with how my training goes over the final 2 months! I am now up to 10k comfortably and over the last 2 months have extended my prep to runs not just round my home villages but across London with my team from work (see the picture attached!).
