I am taking part in the Cambridge Half Marathon on Sunday 6 March 2022. This is my first official half-marathon. I like running as it keeps my mind and body sound, Alhamdulillah. But, a half-marathon is hard and challenging, and not so fun! Yet I want to do it, to highlight the plight of vulnerable people in Cambridge and support them, including refugees and asylum seekers, residents and migrants from ethnic minority backgrounds, single parents, the disabled, children and young people, the elderly, those who are isolated, or with no recourse to public funds, or facing domestic violence. 

The Karim Foundation is a Cambridge-based charity that aims to relieve poverty by providing food and support with domestic costs for those in financial hardship irrespective of their background. Their mission is to improve the lives and conditions of groups who face disproportionate disadvantage.
