783 million people do not have access to clean and safe drinking water, over 60 million of these living in Nigeria, and over 18 million living in Kenya. 80% of illnesses in developing countries are linked to poor water and sanitation conditions. The availability of a safe and clean potable water source in the community would go an enormous way to reduce the casualties of these preventable diseases such as cholera and diarrhoea. To begin to respond to this catastrophic global water crisis, we are starting small and working with one community at a time with our Pumping Sunshine project. Your donations will help to fund the construction of a solar-powered water pump in a rural impoverished community.
