Story

Exercise Whirlwind

Some of you may remember 2009's challenge, when i walked the road route of Battle to Beachy Head via Hastings and Bexhill on Sea and did 3 shuttle tests during the route...well this year, the ante has been well and truly upped!!!

Just after I did the route march in July 2009, one of my friends who inspired me to do it, sadly passed away. I looked deep inside myself and her being one of the most special people I have had the pleasure of knowing i think she would approve of Demelza being the chosen charity to benefit.

I will be doing the same route as 2009 with the added bonus of walking along the Hastings Half Marathon route in addition to the route, that gives a rough mileage of approx 45-47miles!!!! So, what do you think? DO you think i can do the route in a day???? If anyone wants me to do any mad challenges during the exercise, then bring it on...but you have to be sponsor me to get me to do it...they must be within reason though!!! I only have so much shame!

I originally planned to do this last year but, due to injuries and work, it got postponed.

Anyone who wants to do the route march with me for verification and also part of the service team, please let me know!!! Will be a great day out and also will probably end up in Eastbourne doing Karaoke afterwards! lol

The route is as follows;

Start Point - Market Square, Battle

Checkpoint 1 - Crowhurst Park, Telham

Checkpoint 2 - Observer Building, Battle Rd, St Leonards

Checkpoint 3 - Heron House, London Rd, St Leonards

Checkpoint 4 - Sea Road Car Park ( Start point of Hastings 1/2 Marathon)

Checkpoint 5 - Combe Haven, Harley Shute Road, St Leonards

Checkpoint 6 - Conquest Hospital, The Ridge, St Leonards

Checkpoint 7 - Helenswood School (The Cleve), Hastings

Checkpoint 8 - All Saints Church, All Saints St, Hastings

Checkpoint 9 - Hastings Pier

Checkpoint 10 - Sea Road (Finishing point of 1/2 Marathon)

Checkpoint 11 - Galley Hill / Glyne Gap, Bexhill

Checkpoint 12 - De La Warr Pavillion, Marina, Bexhill

Checkpoint 13 - Cooden Beach Hotel, Cooden

Checkpoint 14 - The Star Inn, Normans Bay

Checkpoint 15 - HSBC, Pevensey

Checkpoint 16 - ASDA, The Crumbles, Eastbourne

Checkpoint 17 - The Sovereign Centre, Eastbourne

Checkpoint 18 - Eastbourne Pier, Eastbourne

Checkpoint 19 - St Bede's Preparatory School, Eastbourne

Finish - Beachy Head Car Park

I plan to do this exercise on 25th June 2011, so you have plenty of time to sponsor me and if you are feeling really good tick the Gift Aid box, before the Government try getting rid of that scheme too!! lol

Last time I didnt hit my target of £1000, this time I really want to get it not just for Demelza but for my friend too.
