Story
In Scotland, approximately 1500 people will die this month from a heart or circulatory disease creating heartbreak for families. In the area where I live, Greater Glasgow and Clyde, over 50,000 people are living with coronary heart disease. I lost my mum in 2019 to this disease and I am committed to supporting the world-leading research carried out by British Heart Foundation across the UK e.g at the brilliant BHF Cardiovascular Research Centre at Glasgow University. This research is saving lives - Since the BHF was founded in 1961, deaths due to heart disease have halved in Scotland and 8 out 10 babies born with a heart defect now survive to adulthood. With your help, more lives can be saved.
I am raising money by taking on the following challenges in 2023:
- RUNNING the TCS London Marathon in April - 26.2 miles
- CYCLING 26 miles daily for 26 days in May on a Peloton or road bike
- WALKING 26 miles in under12hrs in June from Glencoe to Glen Nevis
- CLIMBING 26 Munros in 26 days in August
We would be so grateful for your support. Every single penny you pledge counts and will help save lives and 100% of the money we raise will go directly to the British Heart Foundation.
