Story

My friend Jamie suddenly and unexpectedly lost her beautiful baby girl, Lyle, when she was 22 days old. I met Lyle and her twin sister, Alba, when they were just a couple of weeks old and I was reminded of how it felt when Olivia came into the world. They were tiny, entirely helpless but completely precious, beautiful and heart warming. A blessing to their whole extended family and a joy to friends.

It was a shock to hear that baby Lyle had passed away.  Her loss has had such a huge impact on Jamie and her family.  They have had support from SANDS Lothians who do important and vital work for other bereaved families, but there is limited support for bereaved siblings.

Jamie and her family have set up a fund through SANDS Lothians called Lyle's Light to support bereaved siblings.  Lyle has two Sisters: her twin, Alba, and Cameron who is 5 years old.

Jamie and her family have already raised a lot of money for Sands Lothians.  Their strength in the darkest point of their lives is inspiring. I want to support them with their fund raising so I have signed up to run the Falkirk Epic Trail 10km with Jamie and her friends next month.

I started running again last year just after Olivia's first birthday. My tired body has taken to it with mixed results and I haven't run much more than 5-7km so I'm not likely to find it easy! Especially since it'll be January in Scotland!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  Please donate generously.    Any money raised from this event will be used by Lyle's Light to support bereaved siblings.
