Story
Hi,
I am rasing money for the Cancer Care and Haematology Unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital which opened in 2001, by taking part in a trek in PERU in August 2010.
This unique expedition combines Peruvian culture with a trek along one of the worlds most stunning trails ...The Inca Trail .
Taking in scenery such as tropical Andean rainforests, the snow capped mountain ranges of the Andes and of course the lost city of the Incas , Machu Picchu .
The trek is graded tough due to the high altitudes , remoteness , hard terrain and 6-8 hours trekking each day .
The Cancer Care and Haematology Unit is totally self funding.
This wonderful unit provides treatment and care to patients with cancer and blood disorders, saving cancer patients the long journey to Oxford and other specialist centres and the results have been spectacular.
The Trust relies heavily on fundraising and donations.
The trustees are very grateful for continued financial support from the local community and fund raising events.
These funds have been used to complete the major new extension to meet the demands made on the unit and will also enable the unit to pay for training opportunities and additional nursing staff.
The cost of the trip is being paid for by me so any sponsorship money I raise will go direct to The Cancer Care Unit.
So Please sponsor me and help me meet my target of £3000
Thank you
Evie
