Story
Hi everyone, thank you for visiting my page. So, I signed up to the London Marathon 2017 and somehow, (some might say luckily) managed to get myself a position.
As some of you might know, when I was younger I was born with Hip Dysplasia, a severe form of hip dislocation. I had many operations and spent the first year of my life in and out of plaster cast that started at my feet and went up to my chest. Hip Dysplasia could have meant, difficulties in walking in later life and many other complications. However at just 16 months old I was learning how to walk.
2 out of every 1000 babies get diagnosed with hip problems leading to life changing surgery. Thankfully, I got diagnosed when I was at four months old and had the surgery I needed to now live a normal life.
Steps helped my parents by supplying them with special adapted car seats, bean bags and their on-going support.
I will be running the London Marathon in the hope to prove to everyone that even being born with a 'dodgy' hip doesn't stop me from doing anything. More importantly, I am going to try and fundraise as much money as I can for this charity that is very close to mine and a lot of families hearts, to try and give back what they gave to me and my family.
Obviously, it is not going to be easy... It is a marathon at the end of the day. All I ask is that you help support me and this charity to help more families, raise more awareness and to help improve the standard of care patients get.
Thank you very much.
The picture is me at my first ever sports day hahaha, this was a big deal.
