Story
Thank you for taking the time to go through my funding page!
I’ve decided to participate in RideLondon 2022, which means I’ve committed to a challenge of cycling 100 miles (~160km). While doing this, my aim is to give my support to the refugees that were forced to flee their country because of the war. Sadly, this hits home to me more than ever before. Right at the border of my home country Moldova 🇲🇩, there is a war, in sometime peaceful Ukraine 🇺🇦.
Ever since I was a child, this neighbouring country was the place where my family always used to travel to - from going shopping to a local market in Mohyliv-Podil's'k, to the first time I’ve been to the sea side nearby Odessa, which is now the very place under heavy attacks.
Ukraine for me is music of Okean Elzy and a peculiar but also very familiar language that I’ve learned when I was a kid, watching movies on 1+1 Ukrainian tv channel, with no translation. Ukraine is a beautiful country with a lot to offer and I’m really looking forward to the end of the war when I’ll be able to visit it again.
War should be a thing of the past, only remembered in history books. We should be focusing on building a better world for ourselves and generations to come.
Any support for this cause will mean a lot to me, thank you!
