Story
This year, 3 in 4 LGBT+ young people will face bullying in school.
That's 3 in 4 LGBT+ young people who grow up questioning the validity of their own voice.
The Everyday Magazine, with all its heart, in everything that it is, believes that every voice is vital. That every person deserves to stand and shout from the rooftops; to be seen, to be heard, to be listened to.
So when one of our writers suggested a digital zine to celebrate LGBT+ History Month, meaning we could include as many voices, perspectives and stories as possible in one piece, of course it was always going to be a yes.
So a month, many pieces, poems, drawings and interviews later, we have created what we set out to do.

So, we hope that you read it - and, more than that, we hope that this digital zine means something to you. It certainly does for us. It’s a product of hours of work from the magazine’s LGBTQ+ community and team. What’s more, it’s a product of the Everyday Community’s hard work, bravery and commitment to sharing their lives - in the hope that it educates and connects with those who need it.
So, with that in mind, we have a favour to ask.
The priority is, and has to be, ensuring that this world is a safe, equal space for EVERYONE. And creating digital zines alone won’t do that. So we’re asking that you join us in doing more.
We have made this zine free to all to access, and in return we hope that you will donate whatever you can to the incredible organisation, Just Like Us - a charity chosen by one of our LGBTQ+ writers who has volunteered with them in the past.
“Just Like Us was founded for a simple reason: growing up LGBT+ is still unacceptably tough.” To change this, Just Like Us recruit, train and support LGBT+ young people aged 18-25 to be volunteer Ambassadors, who go into schools and colleges across the country to deliver sessions championing LGBT+ equality and inclusion. They also support schools to set up their own Pride Groups - LGBT+ and ally pupil clubs - and coordinate the UK's largest celebration of LGBT+ inclusion in education, School Diversity Week.
All of your donation will go towards funding Just Like Us’ different programmes and helping them continue the work that they do.
We have a target of £200 so please consider giving whatever you can. No amount is too small and everything is appreciated!
Sending love, always - and to everyone,
The Everyday Team
