Avon Ring Solo Canoe Challenge, 18 June 2021
We bring 2,000 miles of waterways to life to give you a place to be happy & healthy

Story

On June 18 2021, Darren Parkin from Ever Wild Outdoors will embark on an epic challenge - to navigate the Avon Ring, solo by canoe.

The Avon Ring is a 109-mile long body of rivers and canals - a physically tough challenge in itself by canoe.

However, along the way there are 129 locks, and some of the longest tunnels on British waterways - including the one-and-a-half-mile darkness of the Wast Hills tunnel.

Darren will be self-sufficient throughout this four/five day adventure, and will be wild camping late at night before setting off at sunrise again each morning in an effort to set the first record time for completing this huge challenge by canoe.
