Story
Each month in 2021, we will be shining a spotlight on one of the charities which we support as a Leeds office. Whilst we are all working apart and remotely, instead of our dress down collections, we will be inviting you to consider supporting these charities by way of online donation.
This month we are spotlighting Martin House Children's Hospice!
Martin House provides family-led care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. They support families from across West, North and East Yorkshire, both at the hospice and in the community. Families are at the heart of everything Martin House does and they
value each member as an individual with their own needs.
The hospice is a place where children, young people and their families can come to stay along their journey and find support, rest and practical help. Martin House also has a community team who support families in hospital and in their own homes, and are often involved in advanced care planning. They ensure that families are able to spend quality time together and make informed, supported decisions about their child’s care. All families are offered the best possible support in bereavement, whether through one to one sessions or as part of our support groups. Martin House has groups for siblings, parents and grandparents and offer a service to families of children who have died from a life-limiting illness but did not use
the hospice.
Martin House is a place of love and understanding. It is a peaceful place but one that can have a lively, friendly atmosphere full of fun and laughter, where children and their families can enjoy the best quality of life.
