Story
My best friend's little boy Rory is fighting leukaemia. It's heartbreaking, and words can't describe what little Rory must be going through. Please help me raise money for Candlelighter's Charity, who are supporting this brave little boy and his family.
The only thing I can do is support them in the only way I know how, and that's by raising awareness and much needed funds for the Candlelighter's Charity, which helps and supports families during the treatment of cancer in and around Leeds, Yorkshire.
Please come join me for a rep or two and to show your support for Rory on Saturday 19th November as I attempt to Everest and cycle the infamous "Murdermile" climb (Brunwaite Lane, Silsden) 60 times / 29'029ft. This means 60 miles of climbing and 60 miles of descending in 24 hours, a challenge which has never before been attempted.
Andy North from team Ultra6 is also running up Murdermile as many times as he can to see how high he can run up EVEREST in a 24hr period.
I estimate that this challenge will take me anywhere between 15-24hrs depending on weather conditions. I'm starting on the hill at 4am and hoping to finished by 10pm.
"Murdermile" is a brutal climb with gradients of up to 20%, with over a mile of climbing (494ft per ascent). It's a climb that I've used many times in training to get in shape for some of hardest world records I have achieved in the past three years.
Cycle, run or just come and cheer me on as I attempt what seems like the impossible!
