Story
One in four of us die each year from heart and circulatory diseases. It’s a topic that is quite literally close to our heart. The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is the biggest UK funder of research into these conditions covering causes, prevention, treatment and cure. The BHF has helped to half deaths, keeping millions of hearts beating and families together. And in 2021 they will have been doing this for 60 years!
As part of the BHF 60th anniversary year, Newbury Road Club is raising vital funds with a Cycling Club Challenge – ‘60 for 60’. Together we plan to cycle a total of 60,000 miles, that’s the entire length of a human circulatory system or more than twice around the world! And we are asking you to sponsor us on our journey.
How can you help?
Heart and circulatory diseases are not in lockdown, but with most fundraising events cancelled and demand for BHF support services higher than ever – they need all the help they can get.
We are asking for you to give whatever you can afford. We are doing it as a Cycling Club, but every one of us will need to rack up miles during the year. We will update our progress on this site. Your kind donation will help with motivation and provide much needed funds to the BHF. Dig deep – we will be!
Thanks in advance from Newbury Road Club and the British Heart Foundation – together we can all Beat Heartbreak Forever!
