Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am raising money on behalf of my dear school friend Angela and her husband Steve whose daughter Eilish sadly died last year aged 4 and a half. During Eilish’s year long battle with cancer she took great pleasure from the Beads of Courage programme, which is run in the UK by Be Child Cancer Aware.
The Beads recognise and celebrate the bravery of child cancer sufferers. The children collect beads for every medical event that takes place such as Surgeries, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, CT Scans, MRI Scans, X-Rays, Fevers, Neutropenic episodes, Infusions, Blood Transfusions, Overnight Stays, Oxygen Assistance, Ambulance Transfers and on and on. In just one year Eilish collected nearly 1000 beads.
Many of the procedures listed are scary enough for adults, and yet Eilish, took on these challenges with smiles and so much bravery. Her strength was truly humbling and I know gives Angela and Steve strength as they face life now without her.
So with that in mind, please give what you can to support me on my 10K run. I'm aiming for under an hour but perhaps I shouldn't have let you know that in case I don't manage it!
Be generous if you can,
Thanks so much
Eve
