Story

Welcome to our Just Giving fundraising page! We are running the 2023 Edinburgh Half Marathon for SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) in order to raise as much money as possible.

Both of us are students who have felt the concerning increase in young people living with mental health illness in our age bracket. But it has also opened our eyes to the lack of mental health support for both adults and young people out there. This is why we want to support the important work SAMH are doing.

We all know that being active is good for us, but when we’re struggling with our mental health, it can be harder than ever to take those first steps. SAMH'S help this become a reality through projects focusing on the mental benefits of physical activity and sports, invaluable support and resources and suicide prevention projects. Since the pandemic and while being university students, we have both relied on physical activity to improve our mental health and would love to support a charity that promotes this to others. We would be so so grateful if you could take the time to sponsor us to help the cause and to motivate our training!

Wish us luck, Eve and Kate x
