Story
As my close friends and family know I have been out of running for a few years due to an injury I had and although I am starting to gradually run again I can’t say I am ready to run a marathon. HOWEVER! As we all also know this year has been a strange one and due to COVID 19 the Marathon can’t take place. Instead I am able to take part in a virtual marathon which means there is no time limit, due to this I have decided I will be walking 26.2 miles on the 4th October in aid of The Brain Research Trust! (Bring on the blisters)
I am so please to say I still have a place in the Brain Research trust regardless of the conditions. Your donations will help to fund the best brain research in the UK such as Acquired brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, Brain tumours, Epilepsy Parkinson's disease , Stroke, Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Migraines. I'm sure the majority of people who are reading this can sadly relate to one of these in some way because I certainly can but after I discovered the Brain Research Trust and all of the work they do I stayed positive and it gave me hope - please read their story.
Our story
"The brain is the most complex organ in our body. It weighs just 3lb, yet it controls our emotions, senses and actions. Every single one of them. It is how we process the world around us. So when it breaks down, we break down.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
There are hundreds of neurological conditions. We fund the best research to discover the causes, develop new treatments and improve the lives of those affected.
We inspire scientists and families to come together, side by side, stride by stride.
Help loved ones live better, longer. Let’s unite to accelerate the progress of brain research. Today"
I will keep everyone updated on my training and I can't thank you enough for your kind generosity xxx
