Story
Hi, I’m Eva, and I’m 17 years old.
I am one of the 1 in 10 women who suffers from endometriosis, along with 200 million women worldwide.
I have been affected by endo since I was 9 years old, and want to change the perception about the condition, especially when it is commonly referred to as ‘just a bad period. Endo is a life changing disease that the medical community still knows very little about. The average diagnosis takes over 8 years from the initial onset of symptoms, so it is clear that much more needs to be done to dispel the myths around endo, and raise awareness with more support for this debilitating disease.
Endo has caused me so much pain, leading to vomiting, fainting, migraines and heavy blood loss to name a few of my symptoms, forcing me to spend multiple days in hospital, even having to stay in for a week previously. These symptoms have also caused me to develop crippling anxiety and depression, and as a result of this, my social life has also decreased massively. I have missed so many days off college, had to give up competitive dancing due to being unable to exercise when in pain, have missed multiple social occasions like weddings and birthday parties, and have even lost friends over the disease.
I would be forever grateful if anyone could donate even the smallest amount to the incredible Endometriosis UK charity, to help raise more awareness about this disease, and support other endo warriors like myself through their journey.
Please gift aid your donation too.
Thank you for your support.
